A peppy song of sadness that I am indeed not a superhero. So many references to superhero origin stories I'd be impressed if one can catch every one.
lyrics
Verse 1:
I’m not rich… I’m not Oliver Queen,
Not a light in the dark, cuz my Lantern ain’t green. No I’ll
never be a hero that they put up on the screen,
Say no to Spandex, it’s kinda obscene. I’m
smart but I’m not Stark, prolly call me Tin-Man,
Not even a mutant, no, I’ll never be an X-man.
Not advanced, and I’m not enhanced. Never
found a toxic spill, no, never got the chance. Tried the
Super Soldier Serum but it only made me fat, must’ve
got a bad batch, cuz it didn’t make me Cap.
Not a woman, not a wonder, not an Amazon princess
Not even a panther nor a Wakandan Prince, this
Lightning Bolt missed my chemical stash. Still
slow, not quick, no one calls me the Flash. Not a
Biochemist, nope, can’t talk to the ants. My last
name is Solo, doesn’t end in “man”
Chorus:
I’m not a superhero, but I think I was supposed to be,
Ain’t got a lot to offer, but I believe in humanity.
Verse 2:
I was stranded on an island but they rescued me too quick.
I was bitten by a spider but it only make me sick. Tried to
find a mutant rat that could teach me a few tricks, but some
turtles threw me out, said I wasn’t legit. Went
to a school for mutants but we didn’t get along. Spent
way, too much, time, staring at Emma Frost.
Tried to be a Jedi but never met Obi-Wan, tried to
buy a couple droids, but the Jawas did me wrong.
Never found a Hammer, ain’t got 10 rings, made no
deals with the devil, no gauntlet infinity, can’t
shrink like Atom or Wasp or Hank Pym. Ain’t got
rock Flesh like Collossus or Ben Grimm. Still
_ not Telekinetic like Jean Grey, when she
turned into Phoenix, I’m the one who ran away. I’m not
one of the four, never seen the Cosmic Rays. Truth
is, as it stands, I remain kinda lame...
Bridge:
Not an Avenger, on the East or West Coast, no
Arc Reactor in center of chest yo, Solo’s
power only showin when he’s up on the mic, sadly
can’t absolve the world, of, all of it’s strife, no
knife like the Winchesters, nor even a Colt, no
Storm manifested nor even a lightning bolt, though
a weak geek, I speak, to all the hearts of those growing
stronger in the Nerdcore Flow, as it goes and goes and goes… (NOT)
Verse 3: (Chewade)
Ghost Rider__ oh so scary, not a
A Cy-clops__ like Nick Fury, though I
sound hot__ like Black Canary kinda
Blind like Daredevil revel in my disabili-
ty, I’m the best like Chuck X. My ab-
ility weak you expect less? I’ll im-
press like I punched Chuck Nor-ris. Though the
clock keeps tickin like a timex. Though Chew-
ade’s been away for some serious time, it’s a
crime but i aint about to stop this rhyme, like the
Riddler crip-pull-lin little thoughts in your mind, I’ll in-
sist that you listen otherwise you may die! Not a
Villian like venom, we be in it to win! Pass it
on to your children or maybe next of kin. Like
Summers to Cable enablin others to win. You
can be a superhero this is where it begins...
